From February 22 to 27, 2026, the Faculty of Architecture and Design STU in Bratislava will host a student Erasmus+ BIP workshop entitled Traveling Teahouse – Urban Experiment Stimulating Cultural Exchanges. Thirty students from FUA TUL Liberec, FA ČVUT Prague, ENSA Versailles, and FAD STU in Bratislava are spending a week immersing themselves in the topic of tea and tea ceremonies – from the philosophical background, specifics of the Japanese tea ceremony and traditional spatial solutions, to contemporary approaches to the creation of teahouses. Working in groups, the students will develop their own designs for mobile/temporary spaces for tea ceremonies.
The event is led by Japanese architect Akio Sassa from ENSA Strasbourg, architect Roberta Borghi from ENSA Versailles, and teachers from FAD STU in Bratislava, architect Michal Bogár and designers Martin Mjartan and Martin Baláž.
