The building of the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava is a national cultural monument. With its character and complex solution, this building can be considered one of the masterpieces of the architect Emil Belluš. We are convinced of this by its architectural and spatial concept, the solution to details, the range of materials used and their high technical and craftsmanship mastery.
Already in the years 1947-1949, Emil Belluš created the project of the Pavilion of Theoretical Institutes of the SVŠT for the newly founded school. The pavilion was realized as the only object of the urban development concept and the location of STU faculties. The realization took place in the years 1950-1952. The building was intended primarily for the education of architects.
