Valerio Paolo Mosco, an Italian architect and theorist, the author of several scientific publications, will give a lecture at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Slovak University of Technology. He currently works as an associate professor at the Università Iuav di Venezia school of architecture. Mosco will give his lecture Scenarios in Contemporary Architecture on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the Emil Belluš Auditorium (Námestie Slobody 19, Bratislava).
Valerio Paolo Mosco graduated in architecture in Rome in 1992 and obtained his doctorate at the same university (2005-2008). He then taught at universities in Rome and Pescara as an assistant, worked at the Iuav University in Venice, where he became a researcher and later qualified as an associate professor between 2002 and 2005. He taught as a visiting professor at I.I.T. (Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago in 2006, led courses at the Universities of Brescia and Ferrara, lectured on the history of architecture at the Politecnico di Milano (2010-2013), and later also worked at the IED in Rome - Istituto Europeo Design (2010-2017). He currently teaches at the Iuav University (studio and theory of architecture). As an architect, he has participated in numerous national and international competitions, winning the Europan 4 competition in Osijek, Croatia (1997, with Andrea Stipo), the competition for the new Wind headquarters in Rome (2000, with Aldo Aymonino and Officina 5), and the competition for a nursery school in Galcetelle, Prato (2008, with Andrea Stip). He has written several books: Architettura italiana dal postmoderno ad oggi (Skira 2017); Perché ora l’architettura italiana e altri scritti (AREdizioni, 2017); Ensamble Studio (Edilstampa 2013); Steven Holl (Motta Edizioni 2009); Sessant’anni di ingegneria in Italia e all’estero (Edilstampa, 2010); Un-Volumetric Architecture (with Aldo Aymonino, Skira 2006) and others.
