We invite students to the Autumn University of Architecture 2026, an international multidisciplinary student workshop taking place in Banská Štiavnica and dedicated to the topic of historic timber structures.
Dates: September 26 – October 4, 2026
Location: Banská Štiavnica, World Heritage Site UNESCO
Participation requirement: Completion of at least the third year of bachelor studies
The workshop program will consist of both theoretical and practical components. The theoretical part will feature lectures on the subject delivered by experts from Slovakia and abroad. The practical part will include thematic field trips and project work set against the authentic backdrop of medieval town of Banská Štiavnica (located in central Slovakias´ volcanic mountains). The project is organized under the Erasmus+ BIP program. Participants will include art history students from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (Poland) and Palacký University Olomouc (Czech Republic); civil engineering students from the university in Cluj-Napoca (Romania); the Faculty of Civil Engineering at STU in Bratislava, and the Faculty of Wood Sciences and Technology at the Technical University in Zvolen, architecture students from Silpakorn University in Bangkok and Faculty of Architecture and Design from Bratislava.
